Northeastern Italy’s Dolomites spill over with grandeur. This 6-day hike takes us through some of its finest scenes.
With most trails above treeline, our adventure in the Dolomites is nothing short of breathtaking. Magnificent views of limestone pinnacles, alpine lakes, massive rock towers, and green valleys below provide an awe-inspiring spectacle during our journey. Because the Dolomites were the front line between Austria and Italy during World War I, the region is still scattered with abandoned bunkers and fortifications, the history of which will be covered by our local guides.
Trek around the spectacular massif of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, observing the extraordinary spike-like shapes that tower above us. Enjoy the quaint stays in the high altitude cozy alpine huts. Each evening brings us comfortable accommodations and delicious dinners. Thanks to a unique blend of Austrian and Italian flavors, every meal is mouthwatering and noteworthy. Our journey through some of the most incredible areas of the Dolomites is a truly rewarding adventure.

Hi. I was born and raised in Northeastern, Italy and my family has had a vacation home in the Dolomites (Italian Alps) for over 60 years. I’m proud to tell you, the Dolomites are a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE located in Northeastern Italy. Each summer and winter break of my childhood, I spent my waking hours exploring every trail and backroad, climbing vie ferrate, hunting mushrooms, napping in the sun at the top of hikes, and skiing down the slopes of the Dolomites in the winters. And I’d like to share this with you. Come with me on an adventure of a lifetime: let’s hike the Dolomites together.
Rachel Jardine Demartin
I’m a passionate adventurer, athlete, and food enthusiast with a deep connection to both the Dolomites and Italy’s culinary traditions. Born and raised in Washington State, Rachel spent her childhood exploring, swimming, water skiing, and working in the family orchard.
Now residing in Boulder, Rachel co-owns Pasta Press, a local culinary destination specializing in fresh pasta.
Outside of work, Rachel shares her life as a wife, mom, traveler, and athlete. Whether she’s documenting family adventures or training for athletic pursuits, she remains a devoted storyteller and ambassador for life’s simple joys—good food, memorable experiences, and the beauty of the outdoors.
Rachel’s journey embodies the spirit of curiosity and connection, making her a natural guide and host, eager to share her love for Italy’s Dolomites and the culinary traditions that define her roots.

Qualifications
Most of our trips are rated Vigorous [4]. Trip members should be strong, experienced hikers in good physical condition and capable of hiking 7-12 miles (5-10 hours) most days with daily elevation gain/loss of 1300′-4,400’. Hiking occurs between 5,000′ and 9,000′ elevation. Some hikes will involve sections of trail that are steep, rocky and exposed (many of these sections are secured with steel ropes or other aids). We strongly recommend an exercise regimen beginning at least 4-6 months prior to departure consisting of hiking (with as much elevation gain and loss as possible), walking/running, cycling and/or swimming.
